TGUP: Completed Projects in Ivory Coast
5 Completed Projects in Ivory Coast

1 - Karat School: Electricity

Ivory Coast, 2019, Infrastructure

Project #109 of 411

Karat School in the Ivory Coast did not have running water or electricity. TGUP funded the installation of electricity to the school. Now that electricity is installed, the school will serve over 500 children on a weekly basis, with homework support, computer classes, and nutrition supplement programs.

2 - Karat School: Water

Ivory Coast, 2019, Water

Project #110 of 411

TGUP installed a pump and piping to bring water to the Karat school's 500 children. With running water, a daily meal can be cooked for the children, and they are able to wash their hands, improving hygiene and reducing illness. In addition, water-based science lessons are taught and the school planted their first ever garden.

Ivory Coast, 2019, Health

Project #124 of 411

TGUP’s Ivory Coast partner, Karat School Project, celebrated International Girls’ Day by hosting a conference in Abidjan for local girls. The purpose was to encourage girls to stay in, and finish, school. Only 2% of Ivory Coast girls finish high school. TGUP provided 300 Save a Girl kits to donate to the girls who attended.

KSP works with boys and girls at the Karat School to give both boys and girls equal access to education. All the children at the school receive two meals a day. KSP sees this soccer camp as a great opportunity to empower the girls in the area, and to teach the many life skills that participating in a sport offers.
