Project #68 of 411

15 de Septiembre, is an urban edge school in Matagalpa with 475 students but it had only 3 classrooms. TGUP student volunteers helped as we built 2 large brick classrooms, and put in retaining walls to improve the state of the grounds. This was the first phase in making it a Ministry of Education "Model School."

2 - Ngungu School: Staff Latrines

Kenya, 2016, Sanitation

Project #69 of 411

Ngungu School had no sanitary facilities as the latrines had been closed by the government. The students had to use the field as a bathroom, and many girls dropped out of school. The teachers had to use the church latrines so missed teaching time. We built a set of pit latrines and the school population started to grow again.
